Develop a commercial sea freight system combining new technology, logistics and marketing for mango exports from the Kimberley.

  • Kimberley Sustainable Development Company Pty Ltd

A flagship project for the Kimberley Land Council (KLC) - joint venture between the Kimberley Sustainable Development Pty Ltd (a KLC subsidiary company) and Monadelphous Engineering Associates Pty Ltd to maximise opportunities in the resource industry in the Kimberley region.

  • Mirima Council Aboriginal Corporation - Kimberley Interpreting Service (KIS);

The funding will be used to assist KIS to increase the use of interpreters within its existing client base as well as develop an expanded market with the private sector. KIS is also examining the possibility of providing other Aboriginal cultural services, including a translation service and cultural awareness training.

  • Shire of Broome - Jetty to Jetty

The Jetty-to-Jetty project involves the provision of a boardwalk extending Streeter's Jetty to Town Beach Jetty in Broome. The extension will include interpretive signage, opportunities for tourism development, pathways to existing businesses, employment and infrastructure development.

Stage 2 of the Derby Airport Upgrading Programme - Reconstruction of the main runway

  • Kimberley Aboriginal Aquaculture Corporation - Kimberley Black Tiger Prawn project

To further investigate issues arising from the Kimberley Aquaculture Research project, including: long term broodstock supply, commercial production of postlarvae (PLs), grow-out of the PLs in Kimberley conditions and environmental issues pertaining to prawn farming.

  • Kimberley Aboriginal Pastoralists Association

To fund a part-time Executive Officer to coordinate the implementation of KAPAs strategic plan and for the day to day operations of the KAPA office.

  • Kimberley Aboriginal Tourism Project

The project aims to maximise the potential of existing relationships and involvements between 'host' aboriginal communities and the Wunan Foundation's tourism activities. The project explicitly seeks to accrue benefits to the host communities and to the Foundation as a key Aboriginal business organisation.

The project will assist Aboriginal communities in partnership with Kimberley Wilderness Adventures to expand their capacity to provide a good quality tourism product.

  • Broome Arts and Music Foundation

Funding will enable establishment of the foundation so that it will be able to work to expand events that promote Broome as a world class centre for art and music and to support artistic expression and generate employment for artists and other industry workers.

  • Minimising Off-Site Pesticide Impacts in the Ord River Irrigation Area

The project will: assess the risks and identify the pesticides of most threat to the riverine eco-system; monitor pesticide residues in tail waters; enhance the natural reduction of pesticides before drainage water is released; and develop with industry guidelines for better on-farm management of pesticides to minimise off-site impacts on surface and ground water.

  • Ord River Irrigation Area Water Quality Monitoring Trial

The Ord Irrigation Cooperative (OIC) is pursuing mechanisms which advance the capacity of its shareholders (growers) in working toward improving their water management practices, and identifying mechanisms to document and report this improved performance to the WA surface water licence authority.

  • Broome Port Wharf Extension

Broome Port Authority's has received funding for the Broome Port Wharf Extension project to extend the wharf to enable it to meet the demands of the rapidly growing trade needs of the region.

  • Fitzroy Crossing Family Centre - Staff Housing

Funding was provided for staff housing for a Coordinator for the Fitzroy Crossing Family Centre, a long day care centre, to enable the recruitment of a suitably qualified person to run the Centre.

  • Ord River District Co-operative - Barramundi Aquaculture

The overall objective of this project is to derive key knowledge that will support the commercially and ecologically sustainable development of a major barramundi aquaculture industry at Lake Argyle in the Kimberley region.

  • Warlayirti Arts and Cultural Centre - Teaching Kids, Teaching Tourists, Sharing Culture

The project will be based at Warlayirti Arts and Cultural Centre and will include the employment and support for a Business Development Manager and a Community Development Worker, to manage the commercial and non commercial development.

  • Australia's North West Tourism Inc - Kimberley Sustainable Tourism Project

The project will facilitate the development of the regional tourism industry within a sustainable framework, which will lead to sustainable increases in visitation and provide enhanced business and employment opportunities for regional people.

  • Broome Tourist Bureau - New Broome Visitors Centre

The project will provide funding towards a new visitors centre in Broome.

  • Mowanjum Arts/Tourism Centre

Mowanjum Aboriginal Corporation (MAC) intends developing an arts/tourism enterprise based at Mowanjum and founded of the promotion and utilisation of the traditional culture of the Worrora, Wanambul and Ngarinjin people. The project will establish a building complex where programmes will be based to represent and market the art of the region, support tourism in the area and represent and advocate for traditional culture.

  • Derby Wharf

This project involves the upgrade of the Derby Wharf to improve its capacity in a number of areas. Funds will be provided for barge ramp construction and design and construction of a breakwater system to ensure exposure to tidal conditions and erosion is greatly minimised.

  • Scrivener Road, Fitzroy Crossing

The project involves upgrading Scrivener Road with an imported gravel base layer, application of a bituminous sealing, placement of concrete curbing and the construction of a concrete footpath. The upgraded road will provide sealed, all-weather access between the town hospital and the airport, which is accessed by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

  • Yiyili Community Aboriginal Corporation

The project involves the extension of the communitys existing Art Gallery facilities to include a crèche, a display area and a larger work area to allow wider community involvement and participation.

  • Kununurra Youth Centre

The project involves the construction of a purpose built Youth Centre to provide programmes, activities and case management to youth residing in Kununurra.

  • Kununurra Childcare Centre

The project involves the construction of a purpose built child care facility that will service the Kununurra community and assist in the attraction and retention of professionals to the region.
