  • Cradle Coast Authority - Stronger Learning Pathways

The "Stronger Learning Pathways" initiative is made possible through a grant of $225,000 over 3 years to the Cradle Coast Authority.

The "Stronger Learning Pathways" initiative will appoint a Project Officer to drive participation in education, training and employment within the region.

  • West Coast Municipal Council - Tourism Industry Capacity Building

A project was approved in December 2002 for $150,000 over three years for a West Coast Tourism Development Officer to drive the West Coast Tourism Plan under the Tourism Industry Capacity Building priority.

  • Kentish Council - Cradle Mountain Centralised Sewerage Scheme

Design and Business Case Development by Kentish Council.

  • Cradle Coast   Regional Touring Strategy

Implementation of the Cradle Coast Regional Touring Strategy. The Strategy identified the key selling points of the region as a tourism destination and will coordinate product and infrastructure development, marketing and desired visitor experience with the intent of spreading tourism benefits across the region.

Pilot project to test the feasibility of supplying new, value-added turkey products on a year round basis to the national market.  The project is expected to lead to year-round production of free-range turkey meat and value-added products, reducing wastage of non-traditional cuts and providing opportunities for development of contract grow-out of free range turkey in the region.

The Centre will provide a seamless research, development and teaching facility covering natural resource management, food production and post-farm gate value-adding, to maximise efficiency and innovation in the regions food sector.

Construction of a purpose-built exhibition centre in the centre of Wynyard to house the Wynyard Visitor Information Centre and to provide exhibition space for a variety of exhibits.

  • Establishment of a Food Processing/Packaging Plant - Tasmanian Pure Foods

The project is to establish a contract food processing and packaging plant at Parramatta Creek in North West Tasmania.  Funding will go towards the redevelopment of a disused food processing factory to current grade standards.

  • The Engineering Company Pty Ltd New Technology Equipment  

This project includes purchase and installation of a Profile Cutting Machine and an Integrex multitasking turning centre in order to implement specialised production line practices and procedures.

  • Whisky Tasmania Bottling Plant  

The project will procure, install and commission a bottling, capping and labeling plant for single malt whisky and vodka products.

  • Carrot Season Extension project Premium Fresh Tasmania  

Premium Fresh Tasmania will introduce innovative production methods to extend the growing season for carrots on the Cradle  Coast.  The project involves using special fleece coverings and associated equipment to enable large scale modification of temperature and moisture conditions.  This will allow carrots to be harvested six weeks earlier from November or early December instead of January.

  • New Technology for Fresh Vegetable Processing Harvest Moon  

Funding assistance will be towards purchase and installation of optical potato grading equipment.  The new technology will improve the quality and efficiency of packing and add significant value to the product sent to market.

Introduction of new seafood processing technologies to enable production of new value added portion seafood products - including an automatic filleting machine and pin-boning & slicing technology.

  • Production Powdercoating Facility Stratton Engineering   

The project involves the construction of a new fabrication workshop, fabrication of a gas-fired powder coat-curing oven, purchase and installation of a powder spray booth and dust extraction system and associated works.

Purchase and installation of newly-developed optical grading equipment.

  • Cradle Coast Tourism Infrastructure Investment Program   

The project addresses identified shortcoming in the facilities provided for visitors, especially the increasing number of motor home tourists and will upgrade signage and improve facilities for tourists visiting the Cradle  Coast region.

Redevelopment of the East Devonport waterfront precinct, including: the East Devonport Traffic Management Study; land acquisition; master plan for revitalisation of the Wright/Murray Street Gateway Precinct; master plan for Mersey Foreshore Enhancements; and redesign of Gateway Entry/Exit.

Establishment of a new specialised vehicle production line at Penguin.  Funds will be used to purchase capital equipment and contribute to the construction of a factory building.

  • Resin Transfer Moulding of Caravan Components Aus-Tech Composites P/L

A factory extension and the introduction of new manufacturing technology and processes.  On completion of the extension, Aus-Tech will adapt and refine a new technology (known as resin transfer moulding) in producing caravan components.

Development of the "Complete Paper Experience at Creative Paper", including: relocation of Creative Paper from its existing site to the Waterfront Precinct; building a new wing on to an existing heritage building to develop a cultural tourism attraction; refurbishing plant and equipment; and relocating and developing a Paper Maker's Waterfront Garden

Purchase and installation of specialised equipment to enable expansion into manufacturing customised lengths and sizes of polyethylene pipe.

  • King  Island Free Range Meats Pty Ltd - Extension to King Island Abattoir

Extension to a new abattoir so that it can process free range meats including wallaby.  Funds will be directed toward small goods area fit-out, purchase of plant and equipment and marketing of free range products.
